A Massive New Development Is Coming - Can Lyons Road Handle It?
This 40-Acre Project Could Transform One Of The Area’s Busiest Intersections
The final undeveloped corner of Hypoluxo and Lyons roads is moving closer to becoming Windsor Place, a 40-acre mixed-use project with 194 apartments, 206 townhomes and more than 15,000 square feet of retail and professional space. New leasing information names Chase Bank and Tide Cleaners among the planned tenants, with portions of the retail center expected to become available this fall. Palm Beach County records estimate the completed project will generate approximately 3,264 additional vehicle trips each day, including 275 during the evening rush hour.
That added traffic will arrive at an intersection already used by 15,000 to 27,000 vehicles daily. County approvals require the developer to add turn lanes at project entrances along Lyons and Hypoluxo roads before the related buildings can open. Windsor Place will bring new homes, shops and nearby services, but for Boynton-area drivers, the larger question remains: Can the roads keep pace with the growth?
Mystery Construction Behind Sprouts Finally Explained
Residents wondering what is rising behind Sprouts at Boynton Beach Boulevard and Jog Road are looking at Boynton Beach Place, a new commercial development at 6345 West Boynton Beach Boulevard. The nearly nine-acre project will bring several new businesses to the front of the property, including El Car Wash, Firestone, an Avis rental location and a planned coffee shop. Behind them, two three-story climate-controlled self-storage buildings are approved, along with outdoor storage for vehicles and RVs.
Why does it matter? This area has become one of west Boynton’s busiest shopping zones, surrounded by Sprouts, Publix, Wawa, LA Fitness and other popular destinations. Boynton Beach Place will fill one of the remaining large parcels, add convenient services close to home and reduce the need for some residents to drive farther east or west. It also shows how quickly western Boynton is changing, with new development continuing to reshape the community every year.
