Boynton Beach Could See Some of the Biggest Insurance Drops in Florida in 2026
After Years of Hikes, Florida Premiums Are Set to Fall—Starting This Spring
Citizens Property Insurance policyholders in Boynton Beach are expected to see an average rate reduction of 8.7%. Governor Ron DeSantis announced Monday that Florida homeowners insured through Citizens will receive significant premium reductions as policies renew beginning in spring 2026. According to the administration, recently enacted reforms have helped stabilize Florida’s insurance market.
With more than 330,000 Citizens policyholders across 67 counties, the reductions are welcome news. South Florida - including Boynton Beach - is expected to benefit the most, with some policyholders potentially seeing 10% or greater decreases. The governor’s office also indicated that additional relief may extend beyond Citizens to other insurance carriers. This would be a much-needed shift for our region after years of steep increases in both home and auto insurance.
Boynton Beach Boulevard Is Smoother, Safer, and More Bike-Friendly Now
The S.R. 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard RRR Project, spanning from U.S. 441/S.R. 7 to Lyons Road, is now officially complete. The project delivered a smoother ride with brand-new pavement along the corridor, improving safety and traffic flow. Pedestrians and cyclists will also benefit from newly upgraded sidewalks, enhanced accessibility features, and dedicated 6-foot bike lanes. In addition, improved guardrail connections were installed to strengthen roadside protection throughout the route.
