Florida's Tourism Industry Just Shattered Records!
And Boynton Beach residents are cashing in
New data reveals travelers pumped $134.9 billion into Florida in 2024, a 3% jump from 2023. This massive influx funded 1.8 million jobs statewide, generated $79.9 billion in wages, and produced $33.6 billion in tax revenue - saving every Florida household approximately $2,000 annually in taxes.
For Boynton Beach, this means real impact. Our beaches, restaurants, and attractions draw visitors year-round, supporting local businesses and creating jobs for our neighbors. Of every dollar spent by visitors, 99 cents stays in Florida. Tourism now accounts for 7.8% of the state’s economy, making it vital to our community’s prosperity.
While we deal with busier beaches and heavier traffic on Ocean Avenue and Federal Highway, the economic benefits are undeniable. Boynton Beach’s workforce depends on this industry, and the tax relief it provides helps every resident’s bottom line. And in this economy, we can use all the help we can get.
