The Good Day Market is back, and judging by Sunday’s first outing downtown, the move may have given it exactly the kind of fresh energy organizers were hoping for. The market has shifted from Boynton Beach Mall to East Ocean Avenue, beside the Schoolhouse Children’s Museum and just a short walk from City Hall. The new setting feels much more connected to downtown, and on Sunday it had a lively, easygoing atmosphere that made it fun just to walk around and see what was there.
We found around 50 vendors spread throughout the market, offering a surprisingly wide variety of goods. There was local honey, handmade soap, plants, clothing, jewelry, pet gifts, farm-to-table foods and plenty of other interesting items that were hard to neatly categorize. That variety helped give the market its personality. You could browse for something practical, stumble across something unusual or simply stop and chat with one of the vendors.
The crowd stayed steady, and the mood was especially upbeat. People seemed happy to be there, and both vendors and visitors were friendly, relaxed and courteous. Organizers Stephanie and Michelle told us they’re excited about the new location, and several vendors we spoke with felt the same way. The space can accommodate as many as 70 vendors, so there’s still room for the market to grow. Add in the large adjacent FREE parking lot, and downtown Boynton may have found a very natural new home for one of the city’s most enjoyable local markets.
