The Agricultural Reserve Is Facing Another Major Development Fight
This 730,000-Square-Foot Project Could Transform The Ag Reserve
A major warehouse proposal in the Agricultural Reserve, just south of Boynton’s western communities, is drawing attention from residents across South Palm Beach County. The Park West Commerce North plan would convert 50.99 acres at Atlantic Avenue and Starkey Road. The land is near the Turnpike and currently used for agriculture and a wholesale nursery. If approved, it would turn the land into a 730,026-square-foot complex of warehouses, self-storage, fitness and manufacturing uses. That scale has sparked a growing backlash from nearby farmers, equestrian groups and residents.
Opponents fear a steady stream of tractor-trailers, added noise and more congestion in an area better known for open land, working farms and horses than industrial buildings. A petition is now calling on county commissioners to reject the plan. Additionally, a bigger plot of agricultural land directly to the west is for sale (as seen above). This land could potentially be developed as well. Why should residents of Boynton care? The Agricultural Reserve helps protect the open-space buffer west of the city. Supporters of the development say more logistics space is needed. Critics, on the other hand, believe this is exactly the kind of industrial growth the reserve was created to prevent. A New Healthcare Hub Is Quietly Rising In West Boynton
After years of waiting, a new medical center in West Boynton is finally nearing completion. Amicus Medical Center is rising on a 1.5-acre site at 10234 Hagen Ranch Road, across from the larger Baptist Health City campus. Approved by Palm Beach County in 2019, the approximately 15,500-square-foot, two-story building is designed for dental offices, physicians, specialty healthcare providers, wellness clinics and other medical professionals. Leasing is now active, and the center is beginning to attract healthcare tenants, although an exact opening date has not been announced.
The project may not be enormous, but its location makes it important. West Boynton continues adding residents through developments such as Boynton Tropical and other growing communities. Having more doctors, dentists and wellness services nearby could mean shorter drives and more convenient care for thousands of residents. After a long journey from approval to construction, this slow-moving project finally appears close to opening its doors.

Jurassic Quest — Friday, August 7th through Sunday, August 9th at the South Florida Fairgrounds, 9067 Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach. Families can step into a giant prehistoric world filled with more than 80 life-size animatronic dinosaurs, including towering favorites such as Tyrannosaurus rex and Spinosaurus. Children can dig for fossils, meet baby dinosaurs, enjoy dinosaur-themed rides and bounce houses, explore LEGO activity areas and take part in hands-on educational experiences. A Once-Ordinary Wall Is Now Celebrating Boynton Beach
Visitors to this year’s Boynton Beach Night Market got more than food, music and shopping. They watched a colorful new mural come to life. Artists from Dream in Color created the artwork at Centennial Park throughout the two-day event, giving attendees a front-row seat to the creative process. The mural is eye-catching and captures the city’s coastal personality. Visitors could also interact with the artists and watch the design develop as the market continued. More than just decoration, the live painting brought local art into the celebration. It’s exciting to see another memorable splash of color fill Downtown Boynton.
