The Good Day Market is back, and judging by this past Sunday’s first outing downtown, the move may have given it exactly the kind of fresh energy organizers were hoping for. The market now stretches along East Ocean Avenue adjacent to the Schoolhouse Children’s Museum. The whole area had a lively, easygoing feel that was hard to miss. We found about 50 vendors offering everything from local honey, handmade soaps and plants to clothing, jewelry, pet gifts and farm-to-table foods, with plenty of unexpected finds mixed in.
The crowd was steady, people seemed genuinely happy to be there, and both vendors and visitors were friendly and relaxed. Organizers Stephanie and Michelle told us they’re excited about the new location, and several vendors said the same. The market will be held every other Sunday through late November, with additional dates planned for December. There’s room for as many as 70 vendors, so the market still has space to grow. Add in the large adjacent FREE parking lot, and downtown may have found a very natural new home for one of Boynton’s favorite local markets.

Boynton Residents May Soon See Higher Water Bills
Boynton Beach residents could soon be paying more for water, wastewater and other utility services. City commissioners are scheduled to revisit proposed rates for the 2026–27 fiscal year after the issue was tabled at their September 8 meeting. The discussion comes just one year after water and sewer rates increased 15%, which brought the residential water base charge inside the city to $16.32 per month, along with higher usage charges. Why all the increases?
Boynton’s utility system has some expensive years ahead. The city says additional revenue is needed to keep up with day-to-day operations while completing infrastructure projects and preparing for long-term investment in its water-treatment system. For residents, the important number will be what the next increase ultimately does to the monthly bill. If approved, the new utility rates would take effect for the new fiscal year beginning October 1. We’ll be watching Wednesday’s City Commission discussion to see exactly where those rates land.

Feierabend Happy Hour — Saturday, September 19 from 6:00–10:00 pm at the American German Club, 5111 Lantana Road in Lake Worth. Admission and parking are FREE for this casual evening featuring German beer, wine, cocktails, food and music from DJ Biker Bob. The event has a friendly, Oktoberfest-style feel without the huge crowds, making it a nice option for a relaxed Saturday night out. Dive-In Movie Night — Friday, September 18 from 7:30–10:00 pm at Meadows Park Pool, 1300 NW 8th Street in Boca Raton. The FREE family event features The Super Mario Galaxy, with guests able to watch the movie from either the pool or the surrounding deck. Food trucks will be on site, and beach chairs and pool noodles are welcome. The Votes Are In - Here’s What Boynton Wants Most
Last Friday, we asked Boynton Weekly readers what they believe Boynton Beach needs most. The votes are now in, and the message was pretty clear: many residents would like to see development slow down. Of the 88 readers who responded, 34% said Boynton needs less development, making it the top choice by a noticeable margin. Better roads and less traffic came in second at 22%, while more shopping and entertainment and a stronger downtown each received 19%. More parks and recreation finished last at just 6%. The results aren’t scientific, but they do offer an interesting snapshot of what some residents are thinking as Boynton continues to grow. If nothing else, one thing seems clear: development and traffic remain very much on people’s minds.
