They're Building Something Big on Hypoluxo - And Residents Should Know About It
West Boynton Just Got a Major Upgrade And It Could Save Your Life
When seconds count, distance matters. That’s what makes the newest addition to the Military Trail and Hypoluxo Road corridor worth paying attention to. Wellington Regional Medical Center is building a standalone emergency facility at 4389 Hypoluxo Road. It’s right on the Lake Worth/West Boynton border, adjacent to the new Elan Palm Reserve luxury apartments. The 10,000+ square foot center will operate 24/7 with board-certified ER staff, on-site lab work, diagnostics, and medication dispensing.
Think hospital-level care without the drive to Wellington. This isn’t urgent care. Strokes, heart attacks, serious trauma - it all gets treated here with the urgency and technology of a true emergency room. This facility will function as a satellite to Wellington Regional’s main campus. For a rapidly growing corridor that has long needed this kind of resource, the timing couldn’t be better. Expect doors to open fall 2026.
What’s Rising Behind Sprouts in West Boynton?
Something is stirring at 6405 W. Boynton Beach Blvd. Equipment has appeared, drainage pipes are going in, and site work is quietly ramping up behind Sprouts Farmers Market at the Jog Road corner. It seems nobody’s talking about it. Back in 2020, developer PEBB Enterprises disclosed plans for a mixed-use plaza paired with a congregate senior living facility. The plaza came to life a couple of years ago with Sprouts, WAWA, and smaller shops filling out the space.
But the rear parcel sat vacant and silent for years. Land was finally cleared last fall. But since then - nothing. Until now. If the original plans hold, this could be a 130–158 unit senior living complex spanning roughly 117,000 square feet. It would be a 3-to-4-story addition to West Boynton’s growing 55+ housing wave. Permits remain scarce though and details are thin. The Boynton Weekly is watching closely. Stay tuned.

🤔 Did You Know?
Long before chain stores and condos swallowed Federal Highway, drivers could pull into Bianca’s Birds - an endearing and memorable tourist attraction. Patrons could see parrots squawking overhead, trained birds performing, and a building shaped like a birdcage. Visitors arrived by both boat and car, drawn to a place that also featured a Seminole Village on site. It was quirky, it was alive, and it was unmistakably Boynton. Bianca’s Birds is a vivid reminder from yesteryear (1960s and 70s) that this city once competed for tourists with pure roadside charm.
