Inside the Multi-Million Dollar Senior Community Transforming Boynton Beach
Resort-Style Luxury Meets Lifelong Care At Boynton Beach's Newest Senior Community
Boynton Beach's senior living landscape is transforming with The Winsburg at Green Cay, an upscale life plan community opening in 2027. Designed for active adults 62 and over, this resort-style destination blends luxury, wellness, and long-term peace of mind. Located on a 15-acre site near Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands, it offers proximity to beaches, downtown arts, The District's future amenities, and nearby shopping and golf. The Winsburg follows the life plan community model (CCRC), providing independent living now with on-site assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing available as needs change—a forward-thinking approach unlike any in the area.
The community will feature approximately 190 modern residences ranging from 920 to 2,454 square feet, with smart home technology, private patios, and upscale finishes. Resort-like amenities include chef-driven dining, a pool, pickleball and bocce courts, a fitness center, and extensive social and wellness programming. Pricing combines a one-time entrance fee with monthly service fees covering maintenance, utilities, events, and more. This new standard of retirement living addresses the evolving needs of Boynton Beach seniors with comfort and convenience.
Boynton Beach Just Announced a Huge Beach Transformation - Here's What's Changing
Beachgoers in Boynton Beach will see a different look at Oceanfront Park as the Ocean Ridge Shore Protection Project begins in 2-4 weeks. Performed by the Army Corps of Engineers every five years, the project addresses chronic erosion and repeated storm damage through beach refurbishment and re-nourishment.
Since April 2022, Boynton Beach has operated the "Reimagine Recreation" Master Plan, a 10-year initiative focused on improving and sustaining the city's park system while addressing community needs for funding and expansion. Oceanfront Park will remain open and safe during construction. However, officials caution visitors, especially those with children, to stay vigilant around pipes and machinery used to dredge and relocate sand along the shoreline. The project is expected to be completed in April 2026.

🤔 Did You Know?
Boynton Beach is home to one of Florida's oldest operating drawbridges - the Ocean Avenue Bridge. It has been connecting the mainland to the barrier island since 1926.

I am a volunteer at the AARP tax-aide location at the senior center. Please note that while we are open M-W from 8-noon, we stop taking new walk-ins at approximately 10:30am. This enables both taxpayers and volunteers to finish by noon (or close to it).
