West Boynton’s Next Major Development Has Officially Begun
314 New Homes Are Rising Near The Turnpike
After years of planning, construction is finally underway on The Ellie at Logan Ranch, a major new rental community near Boynton Beach Blvd and Acme Dairy Road, just west of Florida’s Turnpike. The 39-acre project will include 314 residences spread across six four-story apartment buildings and seven two-story townhouse buildings, with layouts ranging from one to four bedrooms. Plans also include recreation areas, lakes and preserved open space.
At least 45 homes are designated as workforce housing for people who earn too much for traditional assistance but may still struggle with rising local rents. The Ellie matters because it sits directly across from The District, the enormous new sports, recreation and business complex now taking shape. Together, the projects could transform this once-rural corner of west Boynton into a busy new destination. They will bring housing, entertainment and jobs - but also more construction, development and traffic along an already crowded Boynton Beach Blvd corridor.
A $15 Million Transformation Is Underway Along Lyons Road
The long-shuttered Sherbrooke Golf & Country Club along Lyons Road is finally being transformed—but not into the housing development once proposed. The 153-acre property was purchased for $15 million and is now being rebuilt as Nokosi, an exclusive private golf and wellness club connected to legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus and his family. The name Nokosi means “bear,” a fitting tribute to Nicklaus, who is famously known as the Golden Bear.
Plans include a completely redesigned 18-hole golf course, dining, fitness and wellness facilities, event space and advanced golf-training areas. The course is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, with the clubhouse and additional amenities to follow. The project matters to Boynton-area residents because it preserves one of the largest remaining open spaces along the rapidly developing Lyons Road corridor. It could also create jobs and strengthen nearby property values, although the club itself will be reserved for members rather than the general public.

Boynton Drivers May Soon Notice A Big Change On Dixie Highway
The long-empty Kmart on South Dixie Highway in Lantana may finally be coming down. Plans call for the 18-acre property to become Lantana Village, a major redevelopment with 426 homes and nearly 22,000 square feet of shops and restaurants. The first phase would include 307 apartments, commercial space, wide sidewalks, outdoor seating and a public gathering area. For Boynton Beach residents, the project matters because it could bring new dining and shopping options just minutes away while also adding traffic to an already busy corridor. Demolition has been discussed for this summer, but permits have not yet been issued.

Knuth Road carries the name of one of Boynton Beach’s pioneering families. Charles and Alice Knuth arrived in 1915 and became part of the area’s booming dairy industry, with their family operating Few Acres Dairy. Charles later served as Boynton’s mayor from 1923 to 1925. Today, the road preserves a small piece of the city’s agricultural history. And here’s the part many locals get wrong: the K is pronounced. It’s traditionally said “Ka-NUTH,” not “Nuth.”
