If you live in one of Boynton Beach’s many HOA communities, you know the drill. Maintenance requests go unanswered, landscaping issues linger, and getting a straight answer about association finances can feel like a scavenger hunt. Meanwhile, HOA fees keep climbing. Sound familiar? I know this frustration firsthand. My own HOA has gone through several management companies in recent years. Yet many of the same headaches remain. It makes me wonder: Is the problem the management company itself, or is it the way communities are managed?
One Boynton Beach company believes there’s a better way. Blue Ocean Management Associates, founded by Tom Biggs, offers a fresh, innovative approach to HOA management. Tom believes the traditional one-size-fits-all model doesn’t work for every community. Instead, Blue Ocean helps HOA boards build customized management systems around their specific needs. Forget the cookie-cutter packages.
The goal is to create solutions that actually work, increasing efficiency and saving communities money. The idea is surprisingly simple: Blue Ocean brings in experienced specialists to handle what they do best. This gives board members a clearer picture of who’s doing what and why. The result is a more collaborative relationship where management and the board actually work together. Imagine that!
For Boynton homeowners, this approach could mean better communication, greater financial transparency and faster solutions to everyday problems. It could also mean fewer frustrating searches for yet another management company when things go sideways. Tom compares his role to an orchestra conductor. He doesn’t need to play every instrument. He just needs to make sure everyone’s playing the same tune. For HOA boards considering another management change, perhaps it’s time to seek a better alternative. Boynton's Parking Crackdown Hits A Roadblock
Boynton Beach’s controversial parking rules may be headed back to the drawing board! Since February, residents have faced $25 fines for parking on streets, swales and sidewalks. But complaints are mounting, particularly from homeowners whose HOAs prohibit driveway expansions, leaving them few places to park.
City commissioners are now considering changes, including a possible ban on street parking between midnight and 6:00 am. Police officials also say enforcing the current 12-hour exception for gatherings is nearly impossible. Some residents applaud the cleaner streets, while others want flexibility. Commissioners expect to revisit the proposed changes in December.
