Last Undeveloped Parcel At Hypoluxo And Lyons Gets Green Light Despite Congestion Concerns
Palm Beach County Says This Intersection Is "Approaching Unstable"

The final corner of Hypoluxo and Lyons Road will soon be developed with Windsor Place, a 40-acre mixed-use project including 194 apartments, 206 townhomes, retail space, and medical offices. While addressing affordable housing needs, it will significantly impact an already congested intersection seeing 15,000-27,000 vehicles daily. Lyons Road experiences peak traffic of 1,438 vehicles per hour southbound - one car every 2.5 seconds. The increased development will strain road infrastructure, leading to longer commutes for Boynton Beach residents who use this thoroughfare. How much growth is too much? Read the full story here.
New E-Bike Rules Could Put Riders In Danger - Here's What Boynton Beach Isn't Telling You
Boynton Beach is considering new e-bike and scooter regulations exceeding pending state legislation after daily complaints about near crashes, blocked sidewalks, and excessive speeds. Under the proposed ordinance, riders would need to use bike lanes, streets, or designated paths - avoiding sidewalks entirely. Fines would start with a warning, then $25 for a second offense and $50 for subsequent violations. The city also proposes public education programs and parking regulations to prevent blocked pedestrian paths. However, not all riders support forcing e-bikes into traffic. Many Boynton streets lack bike lanes, vehicle drivers are often distracted, and road edges contain tire-damaging debris. Read the full story here.
